Varier
Ritu Varier is a multifaceted performing arts professional with extensive experience in dance, curation, and arts festival management. Trained in Bharatanatyam and contemporary dance, she has conceptualised, choreographed, and produced performances and festivals across India and internationally. Her work spans artistic direction, large-scale live event management, and the creation of original productions.
B.A. (Hons) in Contemporary Dance + Arts & Festivals Management – De Montfort University, Leicester, UK (2016–2019)
Parangata Diploma in Bharatanatyam – Nalanda Dance Research Centre, Mumbai University (2014–2016)
Founder & Artistic Director – Ithhā Dance Theatre (2019–2022)
Directed, choreographed, and conceptualised Hurriya, premiering the work while overseeing all aspects including logistics, administration, and marketing.
Executive Director – Nritya Shakti (2020–2022)
Curated and launched Rasā – The Stage, a performance space for multidisciplinary art.
Designed and delivered a 6-month Movement and Performance Conservatory Diploma.
Curated and managed major dance intensives, including NSXP Contemporary, NSXP Streets, and Contemporary Dance Intensive.

Curated for G5A’s In Residence (2022–2024) and annual Should Art festival (2023).
Conceptualised and programmed performances for the KNMA Theatre Festival 2024.
Programmed for large-scale performing arts IPs, including Spoken Fest, Shabd, and Spoken Evenings.
Performance & Artistic Collaborations
Worked on high-profile live events and tours, including Arijit Singh India Tour 2024–2025, Simba Uproar 2024 & 2025, and Spoken Fest.
International Exposure
Placement at Curve Theatre, Leicester, UK (2017–2018) – research, festival design, marketing, and technical coordination for Pride Month celebrations.
